I'd like to say a few words about this team. I am so fucking proud guys. Not (only) because we won. But also because we had 0% toxicity in our group this time, I really enjoyed being part of this squad so much and I am so happy we got something concrete out of all this.

I also want to make some shoutouts.
  • First of all, for Christos, our captain, without whom we wouldn't probably even assemble as a team to take part in this tour. Not only did he get the team together, but also had a great run (in the very tricky and not his personally preferred RBY) and helped us all with our preps through the whole tour.
  • Secondly, I want to praise Astamatitos, 2HP and Mysterious M, who not only had some great records in the tour, but also played a tough tiebreaker in the so-tight-on-time Christmas week and came through.
  • Moreover Blubird and pharoah, being very respectable in two tiers that aren't our best over the years, especially winning two big games in the final. Notably Blubird and MM are our jacks of all trades, having played 3 different tiers each in this tour.
  • Even the other guys that either had bad records (Loukianos, for whom all went wrong this tour:/, and Ace11) or didn't play (Nikitas, Laz), helped extremely in order to have a good ambience in the team which I think is a big facilitator for someone who's playing in order to perform at their best.
  • Last but not least, a big shoutout for 3 guys that weren't in our roster (sadly enough they won't get the pixel although they fully deserve it as players), Roudolf13, Fear and our Italian friend WOF, who helped us very much in our preps. And, in Fear's case, and mine, to maximize my confidence by letting me know how much he believes in me as a GSC player. I needed that after some early-autumn rng losses had really got to my mind.
We did it all together guys & it belongs to us all. And I hope this won't be the last tour in which we will be teammates.

Greece, 2022 WCoPP Champions!

At last, we have done it! After 13 weeks and three tiebreaks, the trophy is ours! Most of us have been on the team since 2016 and some of us have played in every iteration of the tour so far, so this victory is really special. I always believed we could win this tournament, which is why I would return every year despite the several disappointments of the previous years. However, when I decided to assemble a roster for this tournament, I didn't have championship expectations. I simply wanted us to play our favorite tiers and have some fun after a very unfortunate WCoP season. So, the tournament started and despite the fact most of us didn't try too hard in the first few weeks, results went our way (for the most part) and we slowly realized we could have a special season if we put a bit more effort and improved on a few areas, which is exactly what happened and here we are now, WCoPP Champions! Time for shout-outs:
Astamatitos: at last, you have what you deserve, not only for your rock solid performance in this tour, but also for the countless times you hard carried the team only for us to let you down. I'm really happy this time was different.
2HP: The undisputed MVP of our run and of the tournament overall. It has always been difficult to find new players for our team, let alone players of your caliber. I am amazed by how quickly you adapted to the tournament scene and I think you have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
Mysterious M: you play a million tiers and you can play them all really well. Your performances in DPP, SS and of course in the ADV tiebreaker were key to our success. You even wanted to play in the RBY tiebreaker and I am sure you would have done really well too, but I could never shy away from that match and I am really happy that decision didn't backfire for us.
GLFGno007: you started off tilted, exactly like myself, but when you came back from your break, you looked like a completely different player; absolutely phenomenal. I think the decision to let you unwind for a couple of weeks was the best I made in this tour and with Fear's support in the prep department, we had a GSC core that almost every team would envy.
the pharoah: you played very well and won relatively consistently in a tier that we traditionally underperformed over the years and your wins were really important in our title pursuit. Your record would have been better (not that 5-5 was bad by any means) if it weren't for some unfortunate moments, but oh well, we are champions!
Silpher13: exactly like MM, you play a million tiers and you play them all very well. This isn't reflected by your overall record (again, 4-4 ain't that bad), but your versatility was key to our success as were your BW performances towards the end of the tournament. Awesome team presence as well, but you're already well-known for that.
loukianos: this wasn't your tournament results-wise, but you definitely deserve the trophy because you're still a very solid player and you have an excellent attitude. Glad your comeback in the team was rewarded with a trophy.
Ace11: not your tournament either, but it's hard to perform consistently well in BW and even more so in the midst of your military service. A bit too feisty at times, you are also one of the most passionate members of the team and you've always been here for the team, so you definitely deserve this one.
nikitas, Laz: you didn't feature much at all, but if you hadn't accepted to participate in the tournament, it's possible we wouldn't have been able to submit a roster because we really were short on players at the time I asked around. You never complained about the fact you didn't play and you were always around to support the team, so thank you very much!
Fear: you declined my proposal to play, but your presence played a pivotal role in our victory. Calm, level-headed and of course an elite GSC supporter, exactly what the team needed. Also, our conversation prior to the finals tiebreak really helped me to calm down and focus, so I am really appreciative of what you did for us overall.
roudolf13: your absence had me suffer in the RBY slot for almost three months (this tier is stressful even you're winning...). Jokes aside, I know you don't have as much time or motivation to play anymore, so I don't fault you for that whatsoever. After all, you have earned your right to retire after countless incredible performances for the team, which inspired me to pick up the tier in the first place. You were here for the finals, which I really appreciate, and I know our victory put a smile on your face.
marcoasd: we can now both play in peace! If roudolf is the reason I picked up RBY, you're the reason I became competent at it. When you drafted me for PPL in 2018, you spent an insane amount of time to turn that Greek clicker into a player that actually plays the tier properly. The results didn't come immediately, but you set the basis for my improvement in-game because you really helped me improve my fundamentals and I am absolutely certain I wouldn't be here today without you. Specific to this tournament, the discussions we had about the current RBY meta and the teams you shared with me really helped me shake off the rust and be impactful for my team. Simply the best, on and off the field.
Also shout-outs to Will of Fire, who offered top tier support in the preview gens, Kristyl, with whom I discussed about our DPP prep at times and of course to all our old friends & teammates who weren't with us this time, but have also contributed to the development of the team that eventually led to this moment.

Yes, it took some time but I knew it was going to happen and it was worth it. Your growth during this tournament was a treat. Winning a World Cup, even more as the captain, isn't for everyone.
I've had top talents among my protégées but you are my beloved one and I think this is why. Not the child prodigy, but the great guy who came out in the long run.

Even though PP has now grown into a multi-gen place, this tournament was definitely interesting for RBY.
Team Greece, a team with no fear. Winning multiple tiebreakers means that your time has come.
