RBY 4U [Thread Voided] Nidoking Suspect Voting

This thread is currently voided

---

Original OP:

This is the thread where players of RBY 4U can vote to allow or ban Nidoking from the tier. There are no requirements for someone to be able to vote. The thread will be open for one week. In the event of a tie, then the votes of the 5 highest scoring players in the New Frontiers tournament will be used to determine if Nidoking will be banned. Please discuss this suspect in the RBY 4U discussion thread.

Banning critera (from this thread)
Banning

A ban is merited where a pokemon/move/item/etc. has a significant negative impact upon a metagame and the subsequent play experience. This is the sole criterion for a ban being implemented, and encompasses various issues such as those relating to balance and undermining the importance of skill, while also focussing on its role in the metagame as a whole.

Votes:

No Ban - 1

My vote is No Ban

What? We have not tested enough to vote on that (at least i have not). Playing the tier without Nidoking is necessary in this case i believe...
We talked about it in the thread about suspecting. Why should what the tier looks like without Nidoking impact whether or not Nidoking is broken?

--

Also note I said I would do this a few days ago in the discussion thread
I think we should have a vote thread for a Nidoking suspect test to end on Sunday next week (10th of April). We can use this thread to discuss the suspect and argue over Nidoking and whether we feel it should be banned or not. Everyone who wants to vote can vote. Simples. Any objections to this? If there are none I'll open a thread up in a couple of days.

I linked to the Suspect Testing Discussion thread in the Discussion thread in a hyperlink
and I tagged you in the 5th post of that thread.

You had a couple of chances to bring it up. Obviously I'm still open to discussing it, but I already gave the time for that so that if you disagreed or had an opinion you had the opportunity to say it already open to you for a while.

Nidoking is not broken. Does it hurt diversity? Maybe, we don't know yet- and that's the reasoning behind creating a banlist (current 4U) and a new 4U tier. As Lusch (I guess) and me intend it.

Again, if you want to stick with your tiering system, Nidoking is not broken in 4U- let's skip all this and let's move on.

There is a case for diversity too but I forgot about it and Ortheore's yet to respond to my comment on the tiering system about it. If we feel something is borderline broken, then looking at how it affects diversity is important too. I'm happy to close this for now and say we should suspect to see whether a Nidoking-less tier is sufficiently more diverse that we feel we ought to ban Nidoking. But I would have liked it if someone had actually responded to literally anything I said in the past week or so and brought up that point.

That's nice to read. Well, I think I said that we need to get new frontiers/rankings done, then try the tier with Nidoking banned. I guess it was an unofficial place, but still it's too early to make a suspect and vote something we're not revisiting IMO.
