Superlight - a modern superman-esque team with modern tools including Light Screen Zapdos.

Really proud of this one, I think it's a really good (but also personal) take on the modern standard ADV spikes abuse approach.

Building Process:

So, Skarm is a dangerous Pokemon and we all know it, and Zapdos with Light Screen is a great partner for it that's rose to some prominence. Dugtrio and Gengar fit together incredibly well with these. Gengar is arguably the best Spikes abuser, and together 3/4 of the Pokemon are Ground-immune. Dugtrio helps against Bliss, Magneton, and Jirachi. Zapdos' Light Screen makes trapping Jirachi with Dugtrio, in particular, much easier, and it makes it much harder for Skarm to get totally mag'd. The remainder of the team is about handling various threats like DDTar, special attackers (in particular Ice- and Electric-types that Zapdos isn't built to handle), and is a tool against Blissey. Dugtrio also helps Gengar against Pursuit TTar, which Gengar can switch out of and survive.

Light Screen helps against Jirachi (helping Dugtrio trap it) and helps against Magneton. One common line of play you can go for is as Zapdos brings in Swampert, screen up, and then you can go to Skarmory very safely. Pert can't do much to you, and to Skarm, especially behind a screen.

Zapdos also acts as a secondary check to Gengar as well as checking other special attackers, and light screen plus rest helps it single-handedly take on some of these Pokemon when necessary.

Roar makes it more dangerous with Spikes around and provides an untrappable phazer for the team. Also helps vs CMers.

idk what the EVs do, ask Eden's Embrace

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Ice Beam
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss

The one grounded Pokemon that's not a dedicated trapper, with a very generic and suitable set. It doesn't need an electric or fire move since Skarm and Gyarados are nonissues, and with Light Screen Zap + Dug the team is pretty solid against Jirachi.

Ice Beam helps vs Dug and lets u hit Gar. Also nice for Mence.

Jirachi works here instead if ur more paranoid about like regice/gar/aero and less paranoid about electrics and mence and dug.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic
- Protect
- Whirlwind

Now, Skarm is just skarm and there's nothing original in and of itself, but the classic set is great for a reason.

Dugtrio (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
Happiness: 0
EVs: 136 HP / 244 Atk / 24 SpD / 104 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Rock Slide

idk why these evs but it works probably makes some sense. Starmie/Raikou are not too scary so slower dug probably works?

gengar.png

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 8 SpA / 112 SpD / 88 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Punch
- Thunderbolt
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp

bulky enough to avoid ko from ttar pursuit. TauntWisp helps vs Bliss and keep the spikes pressure up and it's just nasty o deal with. It's gar u know how it is. If u get up a screen it's even easier to beat Pursuit Tar.

flygon.png

Flygon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Atk / 112 Def / 28 SpD / 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Toxic
- Protect

hp ghost 95% chance to 2hko bulky gar in sand. Used instead of Rock Slide or Fire Blast because skarm/forry aren't a big worry for this team and gengar kinda is. RS would be nice for Aero tho. EVs also let it outspeed unboosted endpert.

Edit: moved 28 EVs from Def to SpDef to always live 0 SpA TTar Ice Beam. Useful with all the Ice Beam DDTar around!!

Thanks Eden's Embrace for the help making this team and hclat ThrashNinjax Stockings thelinearcurve and others for being adv testing buds

Granted the descs aren't much but there's not much to say the team is largely self-explanatory after the building process is explained. You can tweak the team how you like: Zap/Skarm/Dug/Gar is a nice core, and then u just need a special wall and rock resist in the remaining slots. Jirachi could work over Bliss, Pert could work over Flygon, etc. but I like this particular setup. The team is spicy.

Since the team is kinda superman, I'll drop this song to finish it off, with cloud 9 by anto :3
