ADV 2U-L Slaking Suspect Test

slaking.png

Sunny and I spoke a fair bit about this and tested it in a couple of games (1 2) and we feel like it's broken; it's fast and powerful and bulky but crippled by truant. Versus offense it's fast enough to do some damage but can definitely be played around as easily as most other threats, but versus stall it's too bulky and powerful to really be handled easily. Whilst it's a bit of a momentum sap versus some teams in theory, versus defensive teams it's a non-issue where it's easy enough to regain the momentum or bring in targets such as Chansey which gives Slaking free turns. Add in a good movepool with Earthquake, Rock Slide, Shadow Ball, and Focus Punch, alongside its good STAB and how it is relatively much more threatening than the things which usually switch into it, considering how those switch-ins usually cannot do so very repeatedly.

Will open a vote later today and will leave the thread open for a week.

Discuss the test here.

Banning

A ban is merited where a pokemon/move/item/etc. has a significant negative impact upon a metagame and the subsequent play experience. This is the sole criterion for a ban being implemented, and encompasses various issues such as those relating to balance and undermining the importance of skill, while also focussing on its role in the metagame as a whole, which includes any effects on diversity.
That's the ban criteria (from this thread)
