Following the standard Clefable / Mr. Mime / Sleeper / Water / Ground or Electric / Filler format, as most if not all of my teams tend to, this one aims to be fairly standard, carrying Dugtrio as a reliable tool to wear down the opposing team and handle Electabuzz, Fearow providing an improved means to handle Venusaur, and appreciating Dugtrio's anti-Electabuzz support. Counter on Mr. Mime helps with opposing Clefable, Aerodactyl, and Mime. The former is unilaterally good in this tier, and Dugtrio/Fearow are a little too frail to take on Clefable easily so more anti-Clef support is usually welcomed. With Counter, you do give Aero a harder time, and it can give you an advantage in Mime vs Mime too. Thunderbolt's an option too over Counter but the team is well structured to wear down and handle Water-types. Mime is chosen as a lead, as the team would prefer to suffer the poorer matchup versus lead Clefable than have to take on lead Poliwhirl at +2 in my opinion. Obviously, Clefable can lead over Mime, and slight variations in movesets can work as to your own preferences.

This team has a bit more of my character about it! The aim here is aggressive physical offense, using roughly the standard format. Kingler over Vaporeon gives a more aggressive means to pressure Vaporeon, and lets me pressure Venusaur too which all my team appreciate. Dugtrio helps with the Electabuzz weakness of Venusuar/Aerodactyl/Kingler whilst also being a fast and aggressive force that alongside Aerodactyl can be difficult to handle. Their high critical hit chances too are also very welcomed.

Tried to make a standard Pinsir squad, so I went with a fairly standard set up. Since Venusaur isn't too valuable unless I see a Poliwhirl lead I can often let it take sleep and get sleep with my own Sing Clefable, and makes it a more effective lead. If you happen to bump into a spooky ghost (Gastly), then try and break the opponent's team with Mime and Buzz mainly. Sets can be changed as per your preferences of course.

Classic format. The team is built around Charizard, a high damaging mon that has some hard counters, so here you hard counter those hard counters to allow it to express itself. Dewgong laughs at Vaporeon, takes general Ice and Water moves, and can work as an Aerodactyl check sometimes. Venusaur takes care of the Rock and Electric users (though Electabuzz can be a bit of a trouble for the team late game). Graveler is obviously the main Aerodactyl/Electabuzz check of the team but is also very useful to take care of other Fire types, so that you avoid taking a potential Body Slam from Ninetales or Flareon on your Charizard. Thunderbolt is used on Clefable because Kingler can sometimes be a problem even with Venusaur. This Mime lead is okay trading with other ones.

I actually built this team before the 3U – New Frontier Tournament brackets started, and I ended up having very good results with it, I never changed anything. With this team you want to do a rampage with Golduck, everything in it helps you setting it up. The first thing is you want to shut down is Venusaur. Exeggcute does it well, and Mr .Mime can pressure it. Sandslash is also a good partner since it takes cares of Electabuzz, and will often make your opponent go to Venusaur. After an Earthquake, Venu is in range of +2 Ice Beam from Golduck. Sandslash also relieves Exeggcute from the Dugtrio task, allowing it can focus on Venusaurs and Mr.Mimes. Electabuzz breaks through Waters that can be annoying for Golduck and spreads Paralysis along with Mr.Mime. The team uses an All-Out Clefable Lead set to pressure a whole bunch of leads quickly especially annoying Mimes and the Water ones or even Charizard. It also helps you sleep something more easily with Exeggcute, increasing the set-up opportunities. You can run Thunder Wave on it if it grinds your gears not to see it, in which case I would drop Thunderbolt. Sing could also work here. Golduck is actually awesome not only because it can be a huge threat, but because it makes your opponents panic a bit so you can pretty much bait whatever you want by sending it in without planning to set up right away in order to double switch, allowing you to gain advantages and to impose the rhythm of the game. This team requires foresight, predictions, and aggressive plays, but hell it’s fun.

A pretty straight-forward offensive squad with Nidoking, a pokemon capable of doing severe damage in the right circumstances. Exeggcute covers up its Ground and Psychic weaknesses and handles Buzz. Dewgong takes care of the Water and Ice ones. Exeggcute + Dewgong also covers what Ninetales dislikes (Grounds/Rocks/Waters) so you lead it here to do some Wallbreaking. I didn't use Charizard to evoid increasing the potential damage Electabuzz could do. Mr.Mime and Clefable were pretty much added brainlessely for their combination of bulk/power/paralysis spreading which helps Nidoking in its task. Kingler is a bit of a nuisance for the team, so that's why Thunderbolt is used on Clefable and Nidoking, the former using Substitute since Pinsir is fairly well covered. This is one of the funnest teams I've ever built and played in 3U.

It might seem a bit weird on paper (and it honestly is) but this team can be very difficult to stop. Poliwhirl wasn’t very popular at the beginning of the tier because running two waters seemed risky and stacked weaknesses. This team is built around this double water core, using Poliwhirl’s early-game pressure without dropping Vaporeon’s bulk (it’s used with its most powerful moves to help the offensive direction of the team). Venusaur is obviously your main issue, which makes Gastly a perfect partner. You run Hypnosis so you have a back-up sleeper in case Poliwhirl is forced to switch out. Psychic could be used if you really want to bury Venusaur but it won’t stay very often and Night Shade can do the job anyway. Its access to Explosion can help you in case you’re desperate if you have a bad start/need to perform a comeback. Gastly rocks in there. Electabuzz breaks through the annoying Waters, can eventually check other Buzz and Electrode, and can be used as a cleaner (Hyper Beam is usuable on it here). The ClefWigg partnership is something i’m quite found of and it works particularly well on that team. Here you use the same set on both, allowing to trade with opposite Clefs (with either your own or Wigg) and still have a Clef/Cleflike, and the Beam Slam set is simply awesome to deal damage given their staying power. Their combined bulk help you check absolutely anything while still having offensive power, reducing how threatening mons such as Mr.Mime or Electabuzz are for the team. Having both is a bit slow but eh, we all know how difficult it is to evoid a Thunder Wave from Clef, so from two... The biggest threat for this team is probably Dugtrio. If you're not convinced by the paper try it, raw power all the way. You can have some variants to this team, by dropping Wigglytuff for Mr.Mime or any offensive pokemon. If you do so, Tank Clef could be a good choice.

This is the team I would give to someone starting 3U. The 4 staples are there, coupled with a Ground and a sweeper. Dugtrio can be used instead of Slash, and something like Fearow in the spot of Buzz. This team is quite balanced and answers to everything in the tier. You can change some moves: Thunderbolt Clef, SD Venu, Blizzard Vap... All up to preference.

I wanted to build a team based around Scyther. For that to work you have to get rid of the checks and to cripple stuff. Mr.Mime takes care of Gastly. Graveler of Aerodactyl, Electabuzz, and Electrode. It also helps absorbing Gastly's explosion. Electabuzz breaks through Vaporeon, destroys Kabutops and Kingler. Body Slam is used on it to take a shot at paralysing Dugtrio. Dewgong is used a lead and in general to pressure annoying plant leads that can spread paralysis and helps vs Vap. It takes sleep well. Tank Clefable is great at checking pretty much anything and is awesome at chipping stuff here and here by forcing things out and obv spreads some paralysis. Scyther cleans everything. This team can be matchuped/lucked and needs to be aggressive but is very fun to play. It has trouble against Dugtrio.

Following the standard Clefable / Mr. Mime / Sleeper / Water / Ground or Electric / Filler format, as most if not all of my teams tend to, this one aims to be fairly standard, carrying Dugtrio as a reliable tool to wear down the opposing team and handle Electabuzz, Fearow providing an improved means to handle Venusaur, and appreciating Dugtrio's anti-Electabuzz support. Counter on Mr. Mime helps with opposing Clefable, Aerodactyl, and Mime. The former is unilaterally good in this tier, and Dugtrio/Fearow are a little too frail to take on Clefable easily so more anti-Clef support is usually welcomed. With Counter, you do give Aero a harder time, and it can give you an advantage in Mime vs Mime too. Thunderbolt's an option too over Counter but the team is well structured to wear down and handle Water-types. Mime is chosen as a lead, as the team would prefer to suffer the poorer matchup versus lead Clefable than have to take on lead Poliwhirl at +2 in my opinion. Obviously, Clefable can lead over Mime, and slight variations in movesets can work as to your own preferences.

This team has a bit more of my character about it! The aim here is aggressive physical offense, using roughly the standard format. Kingler over Vaporeon gives a more aggressive means to pressure Vaporeon, and lets me pressure Venusaur too which all my team appreciate. Dugtrio helps with the Electabuzz weakness of Venusuar/Aerodactyl/Kingler whilst also being a fast and aggressive force that alongside Aerodactyl can be difficult to handle. Their high critical hit chances too are also very welcomed.

This is the team I would give to someone starting 3U. The 4 staples are there, coupled with a Ground and a sweeper. Dugtrio can be used instead of Slash, and something like Fearow in the spot of Buzz. This team is quite balanced and answers to everything in the tier. You can change some moves: Thunderbolt Clef, SD Venu, Blizzard Vap... All up to preference.

Tried to make a standard Pinsir squad, so I went with a fairly standard set up. Since Venusaur isn't too valuable unless I see a Poliwhirl lead I can often let it take sleep and get sleep with my own Sing Clefable, and makes it a more effective lead. If you happen to bump into a spooky ghost (Gastly), then try and break the opponent's team with Mime and Buzz mainly. Sets can be changed as per your preferences of course.

Classic format. The team is built around Charizard, a high damaging mon that has some hard counters, so here you hard counter those hard counters to allow it to express itself. Dewgong laughs at Vaporeon, takes general Ice and Water moves, and can work as an Aerodactyl check sometimes. Venusaur takes care of the Rock and Electric users (though Electabuzz can be a bit of a trouble for the team late game). Graveler is obviously the main Aerodactyl/Electabuzz check of the team but is also very useful to take care of other Fire types, so that you avoid taking a potential Body Slam from Ninetales or Flareon on your Charizard. Thunderbolt is used on Clefable because Kingler can sometimes be a problem even with Venusaur. This Mime lead is okay trading with other ones.

I actually built this team before the 3U – New Frontier Tournament brackets started, and I ended up having very good results with it, I never changed anything. With this team you want to do a rampage with Golduck, everything in it helps you setting it up. The first thing is you want to shut down is Venusaur. Exeggcute does it well, and Mr .Mime can pressure it. Sandslash is also a good partner since it takes cares of Electabuzz, and will often make your opponent go to Venusaur. After an Earthquake, Venu is in range of +2 Ice Beam from Golduck. Sandslash also relieves Exeggcute from the Dugtrio task, allowing it can focus on Venusaurs and Mr.Mimes. Electabuzz breaks through Waters that can be annoying for Golduck and spreads Paralysis along with Mr.Mime. The team uses an All-Out Clefable Lead set to pressure a whole bunch of leads quickly especially annoying Mimes and the Water ones or even Charizard. It also helps you sleep something more easily with Exeggcute, increasing the set-up opportunities. You can run Thunder Wave on it if it grinds your gears not to see it, in which case I would drop Thunderbolt. Sing could also work here. Golduck is actually awesome not only because it can be a huge threat, but because it makes your opponents panic a bit so you can pretty much bait whatever you want by sending it in without planning to set up right away in order to double switch, allowing you to gain advantages and to impose the rythm of the game. This team requires foresight, predictions, and aggressive plays, but hell it’s fun.

A pretty straight-forward offensive squad with Nidoking, a pokemon capable of doing severe damage in the right circumstances. Exeggcute covers up its Ground and Psychic weaknesses and handles Buzz. Dewgong takes care of the Water and Ice ones. Exeggcute + Dewgong also covers what Ninetales dislikes (Grounds/Rocks/Waters) so you lead it here to do some Wallbreaking. I didn't use Charizard to evoid increasing the potential damage Electabuzz could do. Mr.Mime and Clefable were pretty much added brainlessely for their combination of bulk/power/paralysis spreading which helps Nidoking in its task. Kingler is a bit of a nuisance for the team, so that's why Thunderbolt is used on Clefable and Nidoking, the former using Substitute since Pinsir is fairly well covered. This is one of the funnest teams I've ever built and played in 3U.

It might seem a bit weird on paper (and it honestly is) but this team can be very difficult to stop. Poliwhirl wasn’t very popular at the beginning of the tier because running two waters seemed risky and stacked weaknesses. This team is built around this double water core, using Poliwhirl’s early-game pressure without dropping Vaporeon’s bulk (it’s used with its most powerful moves to help the offensive direction of the team). Venusaur is obviously your main issue, which makes Gastly a perfect partner. You run Hypnosis so you have a back-up sleeper in case Poliwhirl is forced to switch out. Psychic could be used if you really want to bury Venusaur but it won’t stay very often and Night Shade can do the job anyway. Its access to Explosion can help you in case you’re desperate if you have a bad start/need to perform a comeback. Gastly rocks in there. Electabuzz breaks through the annoying Waters, can eventually check other Buzz and Electrode, and can be used as a cleaner (Hyper Beam is usuable on it here). The ClefWigg partnership is something i’m quite found of and it works particularly well on that team. Here you use the same set on both, allowing to trade with opposite Clefs (with either your own or Wigg) and still have a Clef/Cleflike, and the Beam Slam set is simply awesome to deal damage given their staying power. Their combined bulk help you check absolutely anything while still having offensive power, reducing how threatening mons such as Mr.Mime or Electabuzz are for the team. Having both is a bit slow but eh, we all know how difficult it is to evoid a Thunder Wave from Clef, so from two... The biggest threat for this team is probably Dugtrio. If you're not convinced by the paper try it, raw power all the way. You can have some variants to this team, by dropping Wigglytuff for Mr.Mime or any offensive pokemon. If you do so, Tank Clef could be a good choice.
