  2. Welcome to Pokemon Perfect, Guest!

Our motto is Pokémon Practice makes Pokémon Perfect. We are a competitive-battling community that encourages the development of players and their ideas, and fosters positive and respectful attitudes. We love Collaboration (working together), Competition (getting stronger), and Communication (being informed).

You are free to post everywhere, unless the thread explicitly states otherwise (usually in the case of a vote), and there are no private forums whatsoever. We just require you to not make multiple accounts. Let us greet you by posting a thread in the Introduce Yourself! forum.

  3. Tiers

View Introduction to Tiers if you don't know what tiers are. Pokémon Perfect tiers are named differently to those on Smogon. A numeral followed by the letter U, e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, represents a main tier on Pokémon Perfect – the '1' of '1U' representing the tier level. For a tier to be a main tier, it must be balanced (nothing is too powerful and game-breaking) and diverse enough (include a variety of Pokémon and strategies). A numeral followed by the letter P, e.g. 1P, 2P, 3P contain all Pokémon that are deemed overpowered in the respective 1U, 2U, 3U tiers. The 1st tier level allows Pokémon that are banned in the 2nd level, and this process continues down. Read the tier list, and in-depth explanations of the tiers naming system and tiering system. Also check out our analyses for all tiers.

  4. Tournaments

RBY 1U Seasons and its master tournaments are responsible for starting up the community, and tournaments continue to play a big role in maintaining interest in the forums. Signups Open gives you a list of tournaments you can join, and Ongoing lists tournaments that you might want to follow. Additionally, you can tap to find out approximate Schedules for tournaments.

For historical threads, check out Signups Closed, Finished tournaments and Results. We also have Nominations, Voting and Event threads for exhibitions – past and present.

Clauses: HP Percentage Mod, Endless Battle Clause, Stalemate Clause, Cleric Clause, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, Species Clause
Banned Moves: Dig, Double Team, Fissure, Fly, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Minimize, Psywave
    Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo, Mew

Play a first-to-3-wins (BO5) series against your opponent. Any games resulting in a tie are to be ignored.

3 points are awarded for winning a round. 1 point is awarded for every won game in a series that was lost. Series 31L does not award any points, but the winner receives a bronze medal.

Seeding is done using RBY OU Player Rankings #16. The top 50% of players are assigned seeds using a variation of the pool-shuffling method elucidated by Lutra in [this thread].

Any player who does not get an opportunity to play in this tournament is guaranteed a spot in the next one.
Any matches not played by the deadline are subject to activity calls by the host, namely, may be coin flipped or result in an activity win being granted to a player who has made greater effort to ensure that the game is played. Additionally, any player deemed inactive can be substituted out at the contact deadline.

Both forum and simulator activity are taken into account in order to determine whether a player has made the required effort in the situation of an unplayed match. It is each player's own responsibility to make the host aware of activity in other places like Smogon or Discord, for example by posting in the thread, or by contacting me on Discord (ErPeris#6024).

Only minimal extensions will be granted in the case that a major real-life event has prevented the match from happening, and under the condition that both players already agreed on a time that lies at most 72 hours past the deadline. This will be strictly enforced throughout the tour.

Any calls I make in specific games can be contested for 24 hours. If no objection is made during that time, the decision is final and will not be changed.
For scheduling, leave a visitor message (VM) on your opponent's wall. In case of an activity call, VM activity will be considered above everything else. Scheduling on Discord or Smogon is also possible, but keep in mind that the host cannot trace this by himself in case of an activity situation, so it is your own responsibility to make him aware of your activity.

Games are to be played on Pokemon Showdown, with Pokemon Online serving as an alternative if both players agree. Pokemon Perfect has its own Showdown [server], which is the most recommended place to play games.

I'm happy that my final set (for individual tournaments, at least) as a competitor in RBY was a memorable one , ggs !
Now, I feel this is the right time to publicly express my gratitude towards my friends and, especially, towards my mentors.
    ErPeris, Sceptross, Kaz, HML am and Chrysalis : <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 < 3
The only reason I won't make a separate paragraph for every single one of you is because I feel I gotta keep my posts as short as possible. Making friends and having fun is what this or any other game should all be about. So... heart-spam for all of you guys (Peppe's style), hahaha.
Mysterious M : I doubt I would had started playing RBY seriously had you disagreed with my suggestion to switch spots with BluBirD during the WCOPP of 2017. So, to some degree, you are the reason I got to taste the poison !
roudolf13 : Watching you play RBY for Greece and following your incredible SPL season has been an inspiration for me. Also, you've been practically my first RBY mentor, so I am really grateful. Last, but not least, I hope you can come back for Greece so that MM and myself won't have to taste the poison again, hahaha
marcoasd : I hear my name. Is someone calling me ? I hear my name ! Both of us can now play in peace, hahaha. A bit more seriously now, I want to thank you for everything you have done for me my friend, both as a RBYer and as a person. I can neither imagine a better mentor than you, nor a luckier tutee than myself. It goes without saying that you've been the single player with the most influence on my game, in every possible aspect. I know I haven't become as good as some of your other infamous tutees, but I feel like I wasn't wasting your time either. At the end of the day, what really matters is that we both had fun and I treasure the time we spent together way more than the victories it led to.

Forced to play with fever to please an opponent who asked me to play after my games vs mister tim. Better to lose in this way than to lose your dignity and your credibility. Haxed in 3, total disrespect. Honestly after this behavior I am no longer interested in hosting any tour, so have fun doing all the calcs, congratulations on your pixels.
    Hope you're happy now, hf.
