ADV Ubers Potential Suspects Discussion Thread

So, tier is now here... let's talk suspects.

Played a handful of games vs a few people with some teams from some friends, and my first impression:

Lati twins & Kyogre are pretty crazy. Right now I'd be up for an early suspect vote on these Pokemon. What are other people's feelings? Deo-A seems scary on paper but hasn't been nearly as nuclear as those three. With Lati twins, we would probably ban Soul Dew rather than banning Latis straight up to begin with.

 

It seems to me from the few games I've played that these pokemon (Groudon, Latis, Kyogre) can be checked without too much issue, but actually countering them seems extremely difficult due to how hard they hit. Seeing as whether or not something can be countered is the basic criteria for whether or not something is broken, I think they should probably be suspected.

 

And if we ban all three, then Lugia becomes broken. If we ban Lugia, then Mewtwo and Deoxys Attack become broken.

 

Well, we don't not ban stuff because it would then make something else broken. If something's broken we ban it, move onto the new meta, test it, if something else is broken, we ban that, etc.

the end result could be something like adv ou with a couple of other mons (wynaut, maybe mew/wobb?), let's see what happens. Looking for some more opinions, rn I think soul dew is the first thing to suspect, thots?

 

This is why my stance is that every mon currently under Ubers is there for a reason. Banning ubers creates a chain of pokemon becoming to powerful without their usual counters in my opinion

I think banning soul dew and Kyogre is a very rush decision. There are a number of mons that can check latis:

Snorlax
Regice (w/ psych up)
Registeel
And a lot of users that can just boom ( forre, mewtwo, metagross etc)
Band deoxys/ rayquaza also helps

Banning Soul Dew will set of a chain of bans which i think is too early to be done.

Let some tours happen first imo
