  3. Tiers

View Introduction to Tiers if you don't know what tiers are. Pokémon Perfect tiers are named differently to those on Smogon. A numeral followed by the letter U, e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, represents a main tier on Pokémon Perfect – the '1' of '1U' representing the tier level. For a tier to be a main tier, it must be balanced (nothing is too powerful and game-breaking) and diverse enough (include a variety of Pokémon and strategies). A numeral followed by the letter P, e.g. 1P, 2P, 3P contain all Pokémon that are deemed overpowered in the respective 1U, 2U, 3U tiers. The 1st tier level allows Pokémon that are banned in the 2nd level, and this process continues down. Read the tier list, and in-depth explanations of the tiers naming system and tiering system. Also check out our analyses for all tiers.

  4. Tournaments

RBY 1U Seasons and its master tournaments are responsible for starting up the community, and tournaments continue to play a big role in maintaining interest in the forums. Signups Open gives you a list of tournaments you can join, and Ongoing lists tournaments that you might want to follow. Additionally, you can tap to find out approximate Schedules for tournaments.

OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned

ONCE THE CURRENT TOURNAMENT IS OVER we can discuss whether we should unban Geomancy.

So for now, what are the top threats, etc.? Let's get some discussion going! I'll post something interesting in my next post ;)

Okay, so my question is, what are the best Pokemon in the metagame that you need to prepare for? A lot of it will be very similar to XY, but the most notable differences in my opinion are the addition of Soul Dew, Mega-Sableye, Mega-Diancie, and Custap Berry.

Soul Dew gives us extra versatility both in terms of defog support and kyogre answers, two things that should shake the tier up quite a bit; Aegislash is probably buffed by this addition since it's possibly the very best pursuit trapper of the Lati@s twins, alongside checking a handful of other threats.

Mega Sableye is a huge threat versus opposing stall, but its mediocre bulk hampers it somewhat; nevertheless, knock off, toxic, and will o wisp are all great disruptive moves it can abuse to demolish balance and stall, and it makes hazard stacking a trickier style to manage; whilst it simultaneously acts as a great spinblocker, very few hazard setters can set up versus it either. Being a solid mewtwo check (other than Mega Mewtwo Y) is pretty neat for stall to have, particularly manhandling stalltwo.

Mega Diancie offers a handful of niche traits that are useful as a whole, but it's not as plainly easy to make use of. Custap Berry makes pokemon such as Skarmory and Forretress much more viable, and is a buff for offense and hazard-stacking. Both can't get past mega sableye however.

Ho-oh and Kyogre appear amongst the very top threats, being difficult to defensively answer consistently, but definitely possessing abusable flaws and weaknesses.

    Time for some OC ;)

The first team I've created and am happy with is a version of whimsicott balance (pastebin); Whimsicott acts as a solid stallbreaker with taunt and leech seed, whilst moonblast lets it 2HKO mega sableye. Cotton Guard lets it defeat Offensive Groudon sets (sub would work too but Cotton Guard is awesomer - probably worth changing it to sub though). Ho-oh acts as a reliable offense powerhouse to break opposing teams, whilst absorbing Will-o-Wisps, making Stalltwo more easy to handle. Ho-oh also absorbs Darkrai's Dark Void, whilst decently checking threats such as Ghost Arceus. Dialga provides stealth rocks and can lured and defeat certain troublesone walls, whilst providing a great defensive backbone against Kyogre, which the team somewhat struggles against but can to some extent play around - if I were to try and improve the team, making it more resileint to Kyogre would be the main objective. Yveltal provides another Mewtwo check, and a reliable answer to Ekiller and SD ghostceus. Jirachi acts as another Mewtwo check, whilst handling Fairies such as Xerneas, and provides an answer to offensive dragons alongside whimsicott - wish support is fantastic for the team too. Arceus-Rock beats Ho-oh, controls hazards, and lures and KOs Gliscor (otherwise a great pest for the team). I feel the team could still do with yet more improvement, maybe making Jirachi carry SR>U-turn and making Dialga a reliable answer to Kyogre, e.g. Palkia or something..

I also created a cool little core but I've had troubles building a nice team around it; http://pastebin.com/hAuTzMJq the concept is to support SpecsOgre with pursuit support for Lati@s and Tailwind support. Kyogre's speed EVs let it outspeed +1 Mega Blaziken under Tailwind, whilst tyranitars lets it outspeed max speed base 130s [everything without a scarf or mega mewtwo Y], it survives 2 latios timid max spa draco meteors after SR, and it can OHKO mewtwo Y with crunch only just with those attack EVs. It also anti-leads deo-a/s.

-- more OC this time better imo --

check out the cool lati set on team 2, beats all pursuiters bar aegi perhaps.
