Alright, all the games are completed. You can just post your vote for best game of the week in this thread. Since there werent too many games this time around I thought I would review them.

My games weren't the most exciting. Against Narwhal my team relies on having a favourable endgame, but Zam went down so fast I spent the whole game slightly behind. The endgame of 2 physicals and a paralysed Jynx vs Cloyster was probably the worst possible scenario for me. In hindsight if I had committed to my hunch that there was no Exeggutor, I could have sent Lax out rather than Jynx after my explosion. That may have led to a scenario where I could have gotten my sleep off without Jynx taking a par. But, it was never more than a hunch that Eggy wasnt there.. I am not sure if that would ever be a realistic line to take.

Against Lusch, my Snorlax forgot that it isnt a Persian against Lusch's Snorlax. Once that was down, with a paralysed Chansey and Lusch's Starmie asleep, the rest of the game was just a matter of trading---helped considerably by the fact Lusch was using an explosion team.

Game 3, the first of the Lusch--Narwhal series was a good one. I especially liked the little passage of Lusch revealing his Lapras as Narwhal goes to Eggy, and then Narwhal having the guts to stay in for the explosion. I'm also a big fan of counter Jynx, so nice to see that working out.

In Game 4, Lusch gets the freeze early on and then is ruthless in not letting Narwhal recover any ground. The Tauros Blizzarding Rhydon was a really nice play.

Game 5 is a very close one. Ortheore's Eggy doesnt get its explosion off, but then his Jolteon crits Alakazam to set up a really interesting endgame. From that point on there are a lot of potential RNG pitfalls, but Louna manages to avoid all of them to hang on for the win.

Game 6 is a really interesting one. I really enjoyed the Counter Lax vs all normal Lax section. It seems like that is a scenario Louna must have played out a few times before. At first glance it seems like Ortheore can play conservatively and probably get through it safely, but Louna has a clear plan and executes it brilliantly. Counter Lax means he can force a rest on a specific turn, which means he can force out lax immediately after it rests, which means he has the maximum number of turns to take advantage of with Sandslash. After that the game turns into a real mess though. Freezes, misses, crits, special drops, untimely FPs, max damage rolls... Just missed a 1 turn wake..

Then Game 7, well.. Slowbro does its thing.

As you may be able to guess at this point, my vote is for Game 6. The ending was very messy, but even in spite of that there was a lot of really good play even after the part I highlighted earlier. Plus it had a Sandslash taking out Eggy and weakening Tauros.

tough to pick a favourite one out of those. I felt in every single game there was too much luck to really be a good game.

g1: losing Zam for Hip really hurts. He did not really have many options against the Starmie with his team at that point. Starmie got lucky against Zam and then the match-up was not really winnable for him. No fault of Narwhal, but not exactly an exciting one.

g5: Interesting outcome if you only consider the Pokemon that both used. Does not feel expected to see a Cloyster Team win against a Team with Starmie and Jolteon. Jolteam lead is shaky and I'm not a fan of the t1 Eggy-switch. I think the game goes completetly differently if Ortheore gets off that boom (provided he clicked it), but I guess he paid the price for letting eggy get crippled t1 and t2... other than that not too much luck flying around. Zam wakes up at a really bad time for orth, cause Tauros would have claimed one at that time, but Zam had burnt quite some sleep turns, so it was fair.

g6: Sandslash putting in work, nice to see. Unfortunally I cannot chose this either because Louna got a bit too lucky for my taste. dodging Blizzard is huge, a lot of untimely FPs in the end. It was unfortunately (despite getting Sandslash points) not really a "good" one imo. Also I have to say, I liked how Louna played it, but Orth did not do badly either and I think he deserved a better shot at the game than he did.

g7: Love me some Venusaur action. That gets even more bonus points than Sandslash. Unfortunally Venu got crit when it was set to sweep. Too bad... Cheesy Sing Counter, but whatever works... Louna got the lead. When Orth saw that Ganger, knowing he had a Venu in the back he must have felt bad. He identified his wincondition correctly, which is going all in on Bro getting lucky to dodge the tboltcrit. This time it's Orth getting lucky and it worked. Also the game did not work as a great example for that, but I liked Ortheore's team composition.

Conclusion: Nothing that really stands out to me as particularly great, but it was also not to be expected with a small number of games. I vote for game 7 because of the Venusaur usage, in that case.

    Short comments on my games:

g2: Hip's Lax went berserk and double crit my own. After that there was nothing I could do. I think I should have better gone for the freeze on Starmie with Cloy instead of booming. That would have been a better out. Another mistake I made was resting with Lax at 258. ""Unlucky" I wanna say, but also avoidable. Definitely got some luck too though. Starmie dodging Sleep Powder and then critting Eggy (also I am not sure if staying was the right call for Hip there) plus getting a LAx crit of my own with EQ on Chansey. Both of those were not as impacful as his crits though. All in all, I got the shorter end of the stick but alsomade my mistakes to deserve the loss.

g3: I probably would have voted this game of the week if I could have. There was not too much luck involved, I feel. His Tauros got a crit on my Reflected Lax for the kill, but that just happens. My Lapras critting his Chansey mattered a ton though. Nice move on him for staying with Eggy on Lapras, but what can you do, sometimes you get em right, sometimes you get em wrong. I was not cautious enough around Jynx. Counter was a possiblity, but I simply ignored it hoping for the best which backfired. I should have lost this game if Narwhal plays correctly, but I think he misplayed at the end, by sacrificing Starmie to sleep instead of Tauros. (It's a rare occurance though, and the reflex-play is to send your Starmie to sleep, so i get it). Chansey showed the brokenness of normal type Paraslam immunity at the end.

g4: I got a lucky freeze with Cloy on Lax and ran with it. It was unwinnable at that point for him.

My vote will be for g7. Really cool team out of Orth, including the Slowbro that seems to be off the radar at the moment. Even bringing out the Venusaur, though unfortunately it got crit.

A close second for me would be my first game vs. Lusch (g3) because even though I did choke the endgame I was really pleased with the Egg boom on Lapras and Counter Jynx pulling through for once; thought it was a pretty good game overall.

Hmm well I don't like voting for myself, so I'll go for game 3, Lusch vs SadisticNarwhal. I think this was probably the most entertaining match, Narwhal made a couple really interesting plays and had a few interesting things up his sleeve- this gave them the advantage for most of the match, only for Lusch to clutch it out. The other matches weren't terribly interesting, whether due to hax or whatever else

I guess that leaves us with a tie. Without having come up with a protocol for this, I think we'll do run off voting. Which means, I have to choose the winner out of g3 and g7.

In that case I'm picking g3. I'll be in touch with Lusch and Narwhal to arrange their prizes.
