    Sometimes when players are spamming Alakazam lead on Ladder, I like to use a team with Exeggutor lead. The awful thing of it is that whenever I choose that team and click the "Battle!" button, a team with Jynx lead will suddenly appear despite the fact that the last 10 matches was Alakazam lead. But when it does not happen and your opponent send that Alakazam, a smile suddenly appears in my mouth (until Sleep Power starts to miss or Eggy gets fully in all turns).

    Of course, this team works nice against teams with Alakazam lead. It also won't be very disappointing vs Gengar/Exeggutor lead (though the lack of a second sleeper is somewhat bad - maybe Lapras could solve that problem, but I love Cuno too much to let that happen), and it won't be terrible vs Starmie. However, Jynx lead will be a pain.

    Since it's a fun team to use, I'm sharing with you guys. Since I enjoy using Articuno (+ Mimic, yes, really), it is present as a filler. There's something that I really enjoy on a team with Exeggutor lead: there's also a second filler. And it happens to be Jolteon.

    It's not a great team - you might surprise some unaware players on ladder with that Eggy lead, that Jolteon and an Articuno that got Thunderbolt using Mimic on a paralyzed Starmie who switched in wondering that she would wall your bird, but really, it is mostly for fun.

    No more talking, here's the team:

    __________________

    === Exeggutor (lead) ===

    - Sleep Powder
    - Stun Spore
    - Psychic
    - Explosion

    === Chansey ===

    - Softboiled
    - Thunder Wave
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunderbolt

    Sing is an option, as the only sleeper you have happens to be your lead.

    === Snorlax ===

    - Body Slam
    - Self-Destruct*
    - Reflect
    - Rest

    * Ice Beam is also an option that I use here

    === Tauros ===

    - Body Slam
    - Hyper Beam
    - Earthquake
    - Blizzard

    === Articuno ===

    - Blizzard
    - Hyper Beam
    - Agility
    - Mimic

    Thunderbolt and Recover/Softboiled are by far the best moves you can get from Mimic, however, Thunder Wave is also a great move you can get with it. Amnesia (from Lax or sleeping Slowbro), Powders, Earthquake and (sometimes) Body Slam worth a mention as well.

    === Jolteon ===

    - Thunder Wave
    - Thunderbolt
    - Pin Missile
    - Double Kick

    He is the one that will kill the opponent Chansey with critical Double Kicks and a fully para. Really, that's gonna happen.

    Hey, I've run a similar team in the past in that I used the JoltCuno combo (and I brought it regularly to tours for a while), though in other respects the team is extremely different. I've included the post below, but one key point that I think applies here is that Rock-Water cores are the bane of JoltCuno teams, as both Jolteon and Articuno struggle to even wear down their counters, leaving a huge chunk of your team dead in the water. How do you feel your team fares against those cores?

    Fwiw atm I think I'd run Ice Beam in Cuno's 4th slot just for a 100% accurate attack (the set in the post I've included is sub-optimal). Mimic to me is one of those moves that's maybe the least terrible on paper, but in practice you'd never actually use it because that means a turn spent not attacking in exchange for what will more often than not be a useless move

    To be honest, that depends. Since I'm not a top on ladder, most players happens to be easy to predict (ex: when I'm running Gengar vs Alakazam, they always use Psychic, so an insta-switch to Exeggutor is almost the law). But yeah, Water+Rock combo is a pain to deal with, and I guess that it will beat this team most of the times.

    There's also something from ladder: free turns are a thing when playing there. It usually happens when you get a freeze on the enemy Chansey with Blizzard (in this turn, you use Agility) and your foe keep it there waiting for the kill (and so, drop some PP from Blizzard), and they do that because Mimic is usually not expected. And Chansey (specially BeamBolt) is an awesome pokémon to Mimic against if it is frozen (the only "bad" thing you can get from BB Chansey is Ice Beam, and sometimes it is not THAT bad).

    But honestly, dealing with Water-types almost always mean "switch to Chansey" (and the major problem of Water-types is usually named Starmie). Of course, GolDon is there to make a threat to Reflectless Chansey, but even taking an Earthquake to land a Chansey Ice Beam might be worth, because a combo of Chansey Ice Beam + Snorlax Body Slam (or any other thing that deals more than 10% to Rhydon) means Rhydon cannot switch to Jolteon's Double Kick anymore.

    Since switching to Chansey is an answer to Starmie, there's also the possibility that your foe make a chain switch of Starmie to Rhydon on the turn that you're supposed to switch to Chansey. That can be a problem to you, as Rhydon will come against a (probably paralyzed) Chansey for free. However, it should be noticed that it is also very risky, because Articuno can stay and use Blizzard, which always OHKOes Golem and Rhydon on hit (and if GolDon is dead, Jolteon and Chansey are going to be a pain to Water-types).

    But that's not the only way to deal with Starmie. If Starmie is paralyzed, you can also use Mimic when it switches, and if you're lucky enough to get Thunderbolt, Starmie is 2HKOed most of the times. And if she is not para, there's always the chance of a freeze (though it is better if that happens on Chansey).

    Lapras and Cloyster are easier to deal with, at least on most of my games (and I don't remember a single match where I faced an Slowbro, but Self-Destruct on Reflect Lax says "hi" to it).

    Against Golem/Rhydon, if you're lucky enough to see yourself facing an Alakazam or Starmie lead, your Exeggutor will be probably paralyzed instead of asleep (that's what people do on ladder). It can hold Rocks and has Stun Spore to use on the Starmie that will probably switch-in (when it is not asleep).

    In the end, you're gonna need good predicts and some luck to make this team run. I'm not a great player (I play for fun most of the times), so my guess is that probably a better player would make better use of it.

    Here are some games that I was successful using this team. There was even a match against you! Take a look, if you want.

    [Gen 1] OU replay: DarkCyborg00 vs. Neon - Pokémon Showdown (I got an early freeze on Chansey, and that allowed me to set up for an Articuno sweep)

    [Gen 1] OU replay: victorsaur vs. DarkCyborg00 - Pokémon Showdown (I think it's the first time I made a sweep with Exeggutor)

    [Gen 1] OU replay: DarkCyborg00 vs. PlanckLength - Pokémon Showdown (somewhat haxed, specially on that bunch of fully paralyzed on Jynx and double CH from Cuno)

    [Gen 1] OU replay: Ortheore vs. DarkCyborg00 - Pokémon Showdown (this one was against you, Ortheore! I didn't remember I had this match. I think I got some luck on that CH Ice Beam on Lax, but I really liked it since I was sure that I was playing against a good player)

    [Gen 1] OU replay: DarkCyborg00 vs. Tommybobby151 - Pokémon Showdown (nothing to say, though I really don't know why I used Mimic before Agility, probably would not do that again, but it worked in anyway)
