  2. Welcome to Pokemon Perfect, Guest!

Our motto is Pokémon Practice makes Pokémon Perfect. We are a competitive-battling community that encourages the development of players and their ideas, and fosters positive and respectful attitudes. We love Collaboration (working together), Competition (getting stronger), and Communication (being informed).

You are free to post everywhere, unless the thread explicitly states otherwise (usually in the case of a vote), and there are no private forums whatsoever. We just require you to not make multiple accounts. Let us greet you by posting a thread in the Introduce Yourself! forum.

  3. Tiers

View Introduction to Tiers if you don't know what tiers are. Pokémon Perfect tiers are named differently to those on Smogon. A numeral followed by the letter U, e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, represents a main tier on Pokémon Perfect – the '1' of '1U' representing the tier level. For a tier to be a main tier, it must be balanced (nothing is too powerful and game-breaking) and diverse enough (include a variety of Pokémon and strategies). A numeral followed by the letter P, e.g. 1P, 2P, 3P contain all Pokémon that are deemed overpowered in the respective 1U, 2U, 3U tiers. The 1st tier level allows Pokémon that are banned in the 2nd level, and this process continues down. Read the tier list, and in-depth explanations of the tiers naming system and tiering system. Also check out our analyses for all tiers.

  4. Tournaments

RBY 1U Seasons and its master tournaments are responsible for starting up the community, and tournaments continue to play a big role in maintaining interest in the forums. Signups Open gives you a list of tournaments you can join, and Ongoing lists tournaments that you might want to follow. Additionally, you can tap to find out approximate Schedules for tournaments.

For historical threads, check out Signups Closed, Finished tournaments and Results. We also have Nominations, Voting and Event threads for exhibitions – past and present.

My name is CHAMPION LANCE, and I discovered this forum when GGFan invited me to the Pokémon Perfect Discord server earlier tonight. He also interviewed me two weeks ago, and you can read the interview and learn more about me on his website.

In any case, I am sure that many people here have already heard about me and my legend. I began my online Pokémon battling career on Pokémon NetBattle in December 2003. At the end of 2009, I became a Leader of the Dragon Rush clan, which later fused with the clan of my fellow Living Legend, Sasha the Master, in order to give rise to the famous Dragon Masters clan. Currently, I am still technically one of the two Leaders of the Heavenly Dragon Gods clan, although my clan has been inactive for several years, during which I have virtually been a solo player. Historically, I have predominately been an Anything Goes, Ubers, and Balanced Hackmons player, and I consider Anything Goes to be my historical main tier. National Dex Anything Goes is also the only tier I currently play in Generation VIII, and yes, I am still very much alive and active in the world of Pokémon battling. At the time of this post, I am simultaneously #1 and #2 on on the National Dex Anything Goes ladder on Pokémon Showdown!. I have taken numerous long breaks from Pokémon battling across my 16-year career, most notably one that lasted about two years between 2007 and 2009, but I can assure you that I have not permanently quit my Pokémon battling career, contrary to what Smogon propaganda and rumors may tell you.

As far as my achievements in Pokémon battling is concerned, unparalleled long-term ladder consistency is the name of my game. Between 2011 and now, I have reached #1 on 63 different ladders throughout 10 different servers and 25 different metagames across Pokémon Online, Pokémon Showdown! and PokeBattle, often with unrivalled win-loss record and GXE. But I would say that the holy grail of my achievements is my 97.8% GXE and 203-21 win-loss record on the USUM Anything Goes ladder in November 2018 - a feat that was achieved using the subject of my famous 15th anniversary RMT.

I am well aware of the fact that, with the exceptions of 2016 and most of 2017, there has never been a time in history in which my reputation in the world of Pokémon battling has been positive in an overall sense. Most of my notoriety stems from my long history of conflict with Smogon, and my retaliation to the numerous injustices I have faced at the hands of that community over the past fifteen years. But with that said, it is against my principles to approach a community with prejudice. Thus, in the same way that I will not assume that this community is similar to Smogon in any way, I will also expect the people of this community to not judge me based on what they may have heard about me or what I have done on Smogon. While I may have exhibited many acts of extreme hostility against Smogon and specific Smogon users in the past, I am approaching this community in peace.

I am unlikely to join the tournaments here, since I don't play OU, and additionally, it is a firm belief of mine that competition in a luck and variance-filled game such as Pokémon should not take place in small sample sizes like they do in tournaments. With that said, I am looking forward to discussing the wonderful game that is Pokémon here. Since I've been battling for sixteen years, I have a lot to share with others in regards to Pokémon battling philosophy. See you around, everyone :)
