Our motto is Pokémon Practice makes Pokémon Perfect. We are a competitive-battling community that encourages the development of players and their ideas, and fosters positive and respectful attitudes. We love Collaboration (working together), Competition (getting stronger), and Communication (being informed).

You are free to post everywhere, unless the thread explicitly states otherwise (usually in the case of a vote), and there are no private forums whatsoever. We just require you to not make multiple accounts. Let us greet you by posting a thread in the Introduce Yourself! forum.

  3. Tiers

View Introduction to Tiers if you don't know what tiers are. Pokémon Perfect tiers are named differently to those on Smogon. A numeral followed by the letter U, e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, represents a main tier on Pokémon Perfect – the '1' of '1U' representing the tier level. For a tier to be a main tier, it must be balanced (nothing is too powerful and game-breaking) and diverse enough (include a variety of Pokémon and strategies). A numeral followed by the letter P, e.g. 1P, 2P, 3P contain all Pokémon that are deemed overpowered in the respective 1U, 2U, 3U tiers. The 1st tier level allows Pokémon that are banned in the 2nd level, and this process continues down. Read the tier list, and in-depth explanations of the tiers naming system and tiering system. Also check out our analyses for all tiers.

  4. Tournaments

RBY 1U Seasons and its master tournaments are responsible for starting up the community, and tournaments continue to play a big role in maintaining interest in the forums. Signups Open gives you a list of tournaments you can join, and Ongoing lists tournaments that you might want to follow. Additionally, you can tap to find out approximate Schedules for tournaments.

This thread will contain announcements and explanations for decisions made over the course of the tournament. This includes any activity wins that are handed out. The tournament schedule, when known, will also be found here.

For further information about the tournament, see the format thread.

    RE: IP Lock

On the day of the signups, we concluded that the rules about eligibility in the format thread were too easily bypassed, which would deteriorate the credibility of WCoPP. Therefore, it was decided that an IP lock should be added in order to remove the option of cheating. Because not everyone has been on Pokémon Perfect for a long time, we will allow both past and current IP’s from both pp and smogon. If your IP doesn’t match the country you want to play for, we will ask you to provide past posts that have the right IP address.

However, this rule is a big change from the proposed ruleset and a lot of people who could have played for a certain team before, are not allowed to anymore. For a small amount of them, we will make an exception. If they have spent a significant amount of time in their proposed country relative to the country they live in now, they will be allowed to play for said country. We will not publicize exactly how much time you must have spent in your first-choice country vs your current one, because that would open up the chance for cheating again. Nevertheless, if we suspect people are trying to cheat with this more flexible rule, we will, sadly, have to remove it.

If a manager thinks they have a player who fits the requirements of the exceptions, the manager can pm me or Ransei their name, their time spend in one of the countries of your team and the time spend in their current country of residence. We will then go over it and see if the player fits the requirements and answer you back within 24 hours.

    RE: IP Lock Exceptions

In case the previous post wasn't clear enough about IP, here are methods for you to prove your history:

If your IP doesn’t match the location you want to play for, we will ask you to provide past posts to confirm evidence of your location in question. This can be done using various sources such as timezone posts and other tournament posts of you providing your location. A date will have to be shown for these posts and they must either come from Smogon or Pokemon Perfect. We will judge its eligibility based on the timezone, date of posts, and credibility with consistency.

    RE: Qualifier Format:

Before the signups started, it was determined that we would ask the last ranked team of last year (Spain) to play any new teams (Afrabs, Asia, Europe, Latin America and USSR) for the last spot, in case of an odd number of teams (15 atm). However, this is too vague and would result in a qualifier period of 2 or more weeks, which meant a clear and good qualifier format needed to be established. After some fruitful discussions with the representatives and a vote, it was concluded that these six teams will be paired randomly against each other and the 3 winners will get to play in the main event.

At 23:59pm GMT on Sunday the qualifier pairings will go live, so the first week will get delayed to Monday 17 September. On a side note, the signup period will also get extended to Monday 17 September.

    RE: USSR

USSR has decided to not compete in this years WCoPP, which means that Europe now has no opponent for the Qualifier phase. After discussion with the hosts, Representatives and GTT we concluded that Europe should join the main event directly for the following reasons:
    1) with USSR gone they are the natural successor to USSR-Benelux.
    2) with play-ins, groups and calendar already decided, it makes sense to not alter the qualifiers or give another team the free spot instead.

    RE: Activity wins

    Gene SP vs. CyberOdin:

The series was over, so the game didn't matter anymore and thus the game didn't get played. So the game will be dead!

    Luispeikou vs. PkmTrainerBlue:

Luispeikou missed the schedule time, so PkmTrainerBlue gets the act win!

    Snowy vs. LiNaInVeRsE

The first real scheduling between the two happened at friday when Snowy asked when to play. Jsaok3 responded on Saturday if Snowy wanted to play today cos he asked at 6am. Then Snowy responded at 3pm gmt+10 and told Jsaok3 that he could play in the next 5 hours (but he was online to even 11pm his time) but didnt saw Jsaok3 (who still didnt give his timezone). With this, Snowy will get the act win!

    ggg1guang vs. ima

Oltan subbed in ima after Violet was inactive but didn't tag the managers of the opponent or the player. This is common courtesy to do either in the thread or on discord to avoid miscommunications. However, ima did contact ggg1uang in the last 25hrs but ggg1uang did not respond in those hours. Because both have made mistakes here, we will dead game it!

    RE: Activity wins

    Charmflash vs ggg1guang:

No reply from Charmflash on PP until after the proposed time range of ggg1guang was over and he couldn't play anymore. Because ggg1guang was more active when scheduling, he will get the activity win.

    Oro vs yoppie:

Oro didn't respond at the start of the week, but they scheduled a time on friday. However, oro missed this time and no substitution was made. Furthermore, no reschedule attempt or substitution was made until after Yoppie couldn't play anymore on sunday. Therefore, Yoppie deserves the activity win.

    Evuelf vs Stone_Cold:

Evuelf proposed to play at night his time somewhere in the weekend and because Stone_Cold couldn't play on Saturday, they scheduled for Sunday night. However, Evuelf couldn't play after 10pm his time and Stone_Cold wasn't available beforehand. Because night is too broad of a time range and Stone_Cold could still play somewhere in this time range, none of them deserve the act win, so the game is dead.

    RE: Activity wins

    TreinerOrenge vs CZ.:

CZ. has been trying the full week to get the game done but he didn't get any response from his opponent. He did get pmed by the manager at the end of the week, but the manager just suggested sunday without specifying a time. Because CZ. has a busy weekend and can't wait all day for his opponent to come online at an unknown time, he will get the act win.

    hyogafodex vs giara:

hyogafodex and giara had scheduled 2 times and both times hyogafodex couldn't make it in the end. France asked for a sub on sunday, but Brazil didnt sub out their player before giara couldn't play anymore. Therefore, giara will get the act win.

    RE: Activity wins

    Serpico vs Metalgross:

Metalgross didn't respond to or try to schedule with Serpico until sunday, when Serpico wasn't online and couldn't play anymore (as can be seen in Astamatitos screenshot in the week 4 thread). Therefore Serpico will get the activity win.

    Fear vs Charmflash:

No visible contact from Charmflash at all, so Fear will get the activity win!

    robjr vs Askov:

No response from Robjr, so the activity win goes to Askov!

    Teal6 vs Thiago Nunes:

Teal6 took 3 days responding to Thiago Nunes before the scheduled for 8pm EST. However, Thiago Nunes was online at the scheduled time but he was not contacted by Teal6 at that time and will get the activity win.

    Zokuru vs Lavos:

No contact from Lavos at all, so Zokuru will get the act win!

    Sinkyr29 vs Kebab mlml

Kebab mlml only answered his opponent in the last 26 hours of the week, but Sinkyr29 couldn't play until 10pm gmt+2. Because Sinkyr29 has been more active during the week, he deserves the act win!

    Luispeikou vs Raiza

No visible contact from both at all, so dead game!

    hyogafodex vs Charmflash

hyogafodex contacted his opponent at the start of the week and only got a response back 4 hours before the deadline. However, hyogafodex didn't see that until he needed to leave, so the game didn't get played. There hyogafodex will get the act win!

    ggg1guang vs TSR

No visible contact from both at all, so dead game!

    Separation vs Insult

No visible contact from both at all, so dead game!

    Kamina vs Raymond Evan Ables

No contact from Raymond Evan Ables at all, so Kamina will get the act win!

(If any of these games will get played, these act wins are nulified!)
