  3. Tiers

View Introduction to Tiers if you don't know what tiers are. Pokémon Perfect tiers are named differently to those on Smogon. A numeral followed by the letter U, e.g. 1U, 2U, 3U, represents a main tier on Pokémon Perfect – the '1' of '1U' representing the tier level. For a tier to be a main tier, it must be balanced (nothing is too powerful and game-breaking) and diverse enough (include a variety of Pokémon and strategies). A numeral followed by the letter P, e.g. 1P, 2P, 3P contain all Pokémon that are deemed overpowered in the respective 1U, 2U, 3U tiers. The 1st tier level allows Pokémon that are banned in the 2nd level, and this process continues down. Read the tier list, and in-depth explanations of the tiers naming system and tiering system. Also check out our analyses for all tiers.

The global tournaments team consists of Lutra, Cowboy Dan, Golden Gyarados, sceptross and tjdaas. The team is made up of 5 tournament experts, with a wealth of knowledge and experience from hosting and designing tournaments on PP & Smogon, who are generally approachable and nice :)

The purview of the team is quite broad. It is in charge of the rules of all official PP seasons & team tournaments, and can make decisions in controversial activity cases and so on. It is also in charge of the schedule of annual team tournaments.

The first things the team will handle are
    - Making rules and giving guidlines for punishment for instances of ghosting in team tournaments
    - Making rules regarding timer losses
    - Reviewing the format of WCoPP & PPL

    ----

In addition, any specific decisions that we make will be posted in this thread.

The lack of a USA timezone is worrying. Basically no one to refer to in the case of an emergency during US/CA evenings

Can you guys think of any talented ADV players who operate on US timezones and have interest in moderating / some hosting experience?

Also I think its a good 5-person roster tbh, sceptross is super mature and very sharp and the other four are all known quantities, and they should be able to get things done and drama resolved in an efficient manner.

    Hi,

Yesterday, Sceptross and I, acting in capacity of the GTT team, were informed of an activity case that happened a few months ago between Oibaf and ThrashNinjax, in the ADV World Championship hosted by the latter.

During the 3rd stage of the first round, they were paired against each other, and basically an activity situation happened, where ThrashNinjax, who was hosting, gave himself the activity win, in a very sketchy situation. We tried to figure this out with what’s left of it, but it’s difficult to have all the information 6 months later. With what we managed to gather, it seems to us that the situation was far from being that much in ThrashNinjax’s favor that it made him deserve such an undisputable activity win. Oibaf ended up saying « Take the win » since he was busy at the time, but he said this after ThrashNinjax gave them an extension that wasn’t legitimate since Oibaf had a serious case for an activity win (that we won’t be detailing here to keep this message as short as possible). We believe one of the reasons all of this happened was because ThrashNinjax was the host, and therefore took personal advantage from his host position.

The reason why this is coming out now is mainly because Oibaf did not fight very hard over all of this. Had ThrashNinjax not been the host, all of this would’ve been different.

But this is not about this pure activity situation, obviously what was done was done, and you don’t cancel the result of a tour for an activity case, you would need some heavy cheating to actually do so. The reason why the GTT team is taking this seriously is because ThrashNinjax has been given a lot of responsibility on the forum for a long time now (hosting, managing, moding) and has shown a lack of competency for these functions (see ADV season 3, PPL season 2, ADV WC now, and other situations that we do not wish to mention because the goal of this post is not to bully or expose him) despite being trusted. Even though this story is only coming out now (mainly because of Oibaf not being noisy about it), we do believe that it has been too much, and thus came to the conclusion that something needs to happen.

Our decision is that ThrashNinjax won’t be allowed to hold any responsibility role on the forum, meaning he can’t manage, can’t host, and can’t mod.

    This means :
    - ThrashNinjax will get demoted to Host Emeritus, a no-power role that just says you’ve been a forum host at some point
    - He won’t host the different ADV Cups as it was planned, we are currently looking for a replacement, but he will be allowed to finish hosting the ADV OU Mauville Cup
    - He won’t be the manager of the PPL team « Pacifidlog Typhloons », instead it will be managed by deluks917
    - He won’t be allowed to assman for any PPL team either, but this means he is now permitted to sign-up as a player. This is purely our choice.
    - The result of the ADV World Championship remains unchanged

On a final note, I would like to say that even though the GTT team felt it necessary to rule again on this particularly sketchy activity case from 6 months ago,, it doesn’t mean we’re the go-to when you’re having an activity issue in your tournaments. You should always refer to the host of that tournament, who can then consult us if he has a doubt on what decision to take. Also, don’t expect anybody to make your case for your own activity wins : it is your responsibility. As shown here, Oibaf could’ve had the activity win gone his way, but it didn’t because he didn’t make a proper case for it.

I will also ask everybody to avoid creating any form of drama on both the forum and the discord servers about this. Any useless post on this thread will be deleted and its author will get infracted.

    Thank you

    Hello,

ThrashNinjax and Atli scheduled their PPL game for yesterday, April 22nd, at 8PM GMT. However, ThrashNinjax missed schedule. Atli then proceeded to ask for his whereabouts in VMs. ThrashNinjax said he wouldn't be available soon, due to an unexpected turn of events. In the meantime, discussion about this situation was happening in PPL's Discord.

Eventually, ThrashNinjax found a gap to play on his phone and informed his teammates and Atli about it. He said he could disconnect frequently, to which the team replied that he could ask for a no timer game. Soon after, a game between Atli and a player called "Typhloon Realm" started, with "Typhloon Realm" immediatly putting the timer on. This obviously struck as odd to ThrashNinjax's teammates, who immediatly inquired him about it, to which he replies he hasn't started playing yet. He asks for the game's link, joins it and asks who "Typhloon Realm" is, who replies by forfeiting, saying "gg" and leaving.

Immediatly after this situation happening, I started working on getting a global moderator to inform me who the culprit was. Finchinator was the first one to respond. Eventually he determined that the IP in question returns a location in Canada. The only person known to live in Canada that was online in PPL's Discord at the time was Hofuku (also known as Skeptics and Konzern and the assistant manager of Team Ice). I then proceeded to ask Finchinator to determine if Typhloon Realm's IP is the same or at least similar to Hofuku. Turns out the IP is the exact same one that Hofuku used in his last login in Smogon.

With enough evidence in my hands that "Typhloon Realm" was indeed Hofuku, I gave instructions to Eseque to issue a ban from PPL's current edition to Hofuku, effective immediatly, since the following week was almost starting. I then exposed the situation to the rest of the Global Tournaments Team so that we could ponder on further punishment.

Impersonating someone is a very serious issue that cannon be taken lightly. We don't need to get very creative to realize the damage that can be caused, specially for the impersonated, when something like this happens. In this case, a tournament match was played. This forced Atli to bring a different team than the one he had prepared to play his real game versus ThrashNinjax (the game happened soon after). Not only this is far from ideal, to put it lightly, for Atli, it is also an attempt at damaging the integrity of the tournament by Hofuku. The Global Tournaments Team (GTT) takes the integrity of Pokemon Perfect's tournaments, as well as impersonation of another person, very seriously. With this in mind, the GTT decided to punish Hofuku with a ban from all tournaments held in Pokemon Perfect for an indeterminate amount of time, including both team and individual tournaments.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Following the announcement of Hofuku's ban yesterday, Linkin Karp approached the GTT saying that EB0LA, on an alt, impersonated stunner047 for their set for RBY MT #37. Apparently, while Linkin Karp was waiting for stunner047 in the main Pokemon Showdown! server, EB0LA, on an alt, approached him, saying he was stunner047. They soon started to battle. Only 1 game was played, which can be found in the following replay:

[Gen 1] OU replay: Monerenee vs. Linkin Karp - Pokémon Showdown

As we can see in the replay, stunner047 joined in the middle the battle, which makes EB0LA (the alt is confirmed to be EB0LA) say "Well this is awkward" and forfeit. From this, we can clearly deduce that EB0LA was aware of the fact that stunner047 was going to play Linkin Karp and tried to impersonate him.

As mentioned yesterday, the GTT takes the integrity of their tournaments very seriously and impersonating someone is a very serious issue that cannon be taken lightly. However, there are some differences between the situation of yesterday and this one that should be said:

    - This situation happened 6 months ago.
    - At the time, the GTT didn't have clearly defined rules as it has now (in fact, it didn't even exist).
    - The game was not for a team tournament, but for an individual tournament. While this doesn't make the action any less serious, it directly involves less people.
    - While EB0LA caused some problems in the past, most of them were not directly related to Pokemon Perfect and were not as serious as the problems Hofuku caused.

In light of this, the GTT proposed a 6 month tournament ban for EB0LA. However, some GTT members also felt that they could potentially be biased (for instance, Disaster Area is currently EB0LA's manager in PPL and Sceptross and Lutra banned him from RoA in the past). This made us ask 4 users that are trustworthy, committed to the website and known to be reasonable, what would they do if they were presented with this situation. They were not informed of the GTT's decision, so that they would give us an unbiased opinion. All 4 of them suggested a temporary tournament ban too, lasting between 3 and 8 months. With this in mind, the GTT is confident that its initial proposal is fair. Thus, starting from April 30th and until October 30th, EB0LA is banned from all tournaments held in Pokemon Perfect, including both team and individual tournaments.

    Thank you.

Ebola should be tour banned for at least a year. Impersonation is a serious offense that threatens the legitimacy and integrity of tours.

    Hello,

Today, Linkin Karp brought to the attention of the GTT logs of a conversation he had with Finchinator where he, as a super moderator in Smogon, confirmed that Ayamaro, a user in Smogon, is Konzern (also known as Skeptics or Hofuku).

This concerns Pokemon Perfect because Krack, in one of his posts in PP (which you can find here) admitted he is Ayamaro. This means that the GTT is highly confident that Krack and Hofuku are the same person.

This confirmation means that 3 very serious infractions were made:

    1) Krack and Hofuku both participated in WCoPP for team North America.
    2) Krack and Hofuku both participated in PPL at the same time.
    3) Krack joined the RBY Season 15 after Hofuku was banned from joining tournaments in Pokemon Perfect.

This situation is so serious that not only did we confirm with Finchinator the veracity of the logs, but we also double checked with another super moderator in Smogon that this was true. It is.

Throughout its 6 and a half years of history, Pokemon Perfect's staff had a policy of doing everything it could to avoid banning users from the website. The ban list of the webiste is, thus, completely empty. However, this situation has no precedents in terms of seriousness. This is a very big attempt to undermine the integrity of Pokemon Perfect's tournaments. This means that we are today forced to break that policy, after 6 and a half years. Effective immediatly, Hofuku is banned from accessing Pokemon Perfect and all of its official media for an indeterminate amount of time.

I ask that every person that is currently in charge of PP's official Discord Servers to ban Hofuku from them.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The GTT has obtained new evidence about two recent situations: the situation where Hofuku impersonated ThrashNinjax for his PPL game with Atli and the situation where ThrashNinjax 's team was leaked to Eko for their PPL game.

For who is not aware of these situations, you can read about the former here. About the latter, the following happened: during the first turn of the game between ThrashNinjax and Eko, Eko was leaked ThrashNinjax's cryptobin with the team, as well as the password. He immediatly reported this in the game chat. I was spectating the game and, as PPL host, immediatly declared the game void. After this, the GTT decided to investigate the situation but, due to lack of evidence, nothing was done about it.

However, 2 days ago, Hofuku, through Discord, showed me screenshots that made it completely clear that ThrashNinjax and Hofuku were the ones behind both happenings, with ThrashNinjax being the one that came up with the idea for both. The former situation was planned in an attempt to buy ThrashNinjax some more time (refer to the linked post to see a reason for this). The latter was planned with the objective of framing Eseque. Since Eseque was, in theory, the only person other than ThrashNinjax that knew both the password and the link for the cryptobin, he thought suspicion would immediatly fall on Eseque, which would eventually lead into him being, according to his words, "obliterated".

While Hofuku was the one that "did the dirty work", the mastermind behind both situations was ThrashNinjax, which is as, if not more, serious. Both situations were an attempt to undermine the tournament's integrity with another goal in mind. It is also a big sign of disrespect for Atli and Eseque by ThrashNinjax. Once again, the GTT considered the situation so serious that we made sure the screenshots were legitimate before taking action. They are.

To add to this, ThrashNinjax has also been accused of doing other serious offenses, such as faking logs several times (Eseque in Discord, CZ in PPL, for instance) and has been proven to have committed the offenses listed in this post.

With this in mind, the GTT thinks that the seriousness and sheer quantity of situations forces us to take extreme measures once again. Effective immediatly, ThrashNinjax is banned from accessing Pokemon Perfect and all of its official media for an indeterminate amount of time.

I ask that every person that is currently in charge of PP's official Discord Servers to ban ThrashNinjax from them. I also ask that no drama about this situation happens. Posts about this in this thread will be deleted and their authors infracted.

    Hello Pokémon Perfect Tournament players,

We apologize for the lack of updates, but we have currently two cases we need to address.

Starting with the more recent one of the two, today the GTT received a screenshot from HML am containing a log between him and his player MetalGross, which in turn has a leaked screenshot from the Dracarys discord. This log was sent to MetalGross by samy0w, who was drafted by the Dracarys. This screenshot contains the "scouting report" or "prep" of the Dracarys management about the RBY players of the Burned Tower Beasts. This of course is clearly cheating because leaking information to your opponent’s team is strictly against the rules. Even further, samy0w has behaved kind of hostile towards ErPeris because he found him "annoying". However, not getting along with your manager is and will not be banworthy, but it makes the leaking even worse. Therefore, samy0w will get a tourban for 3-month for leaking "prep" and is not allowed to play or participate in the next edition of PPL. He will be disqualified from any tournament he is currently in and the Dracarys are allowed to pick up another player from the original pool.

On a side note, he leaked to their week 2 opponent, but he could also have leaked information or teams to their week 1 opponent. After going thoroughly through their discord, we can conclude that there is absolutely no indications or evidence that any of the players of the Galactoid Garbodors got leaked teams, or information, from Samy0w in any shape or form. A lot of the teams were already prepared before the first incident between Samy0w and ErPeris even happened.

Now moving on to the second case: a month ago, we got a lot of screenshots from Spain's WCoPP2 manager Ilesaural containing ghosting logs from 1 of his players, Joya), and another user, Raptor, and from all 3 of Joya's WCoPP games but also from tours in the Spanish speaking community. After going through all of them and asking for translations, we are sure that Joya was ghosted in private by Raptor during all of his WCoPP2 games. Because ghosting is clearly against our rules, both Raptor and Joya will get a 6-month tourban for ghosting and are not allowed to participate in the next 2 editions of WCoPP. Because all of the logs were done in private, the rest of the team and the managers did not know of the cheating and will thus not be held responsible.

    Thank you.
